Post No. 3 - Reading Time:

Well it’s a new year and a new time to rediscover the things that have taken us this far and learn the things that will take us on down the road.

For me this means returning to a weekly blog. However, this is harder than you might think. Why? Because things change so rapidly in the world today. This is driven by modern technology and the ever-changing cultural norms around us.

I’ve been through email, websites, texting, Facebook, YouTube, and more. Now I’ve come full circle and it’s time for our church to return to its own website where advertisements and “fact-checking” will not dominate our expression of faith.

To do this I have invested some time learning a new software package for creating our own website. It’s not an elaborate App, but it will get our videos out there and allow me to communicate with those who chose to view our content.

We are not in the business of using our website to promote to a larger audience, but we desire to keep our members and those interested in our activities, aware of what we are doing. It’s hard to stay focused and up-to-date on everything that’s happening, even in our small community. So this website is intended to be the main source for the information we convey from Calvary Assemblies of God.

Even my personal Facebook page and our YouTube channel will direct you here to allow you to see more of our activities. Initially this year we will start with posting our service videos here (not live). We will however post links to our my YouTube channel where the videos of our services are upload and you can view them there also. This new website will be where our main page will announce upcoming events at Calvary. Also, this will be where you can view my weekly blog, as you are doing now.

We’ve been a little slow in getting this up and running. It’s been more of a challenge to return to website design and programming again. So much has changed since we started our first website over a decade ago. However as this month (and the ones that follow) progress, we will develop a weekly schedule of posting that I can keep pace with.

I hope this helps you stay informed of our events, glean from our service videos, and connect with the people of Calvary. Until next week, may the Lord bless and keep.

Until next Monday, may the Lord bless you! Pray for us!
